Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has expressed his dissatisfaction with the recent judgment of the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) that upheld the victory of President Bola Tinubu in the presidential election. Atiku, through his legal team led by Chief Chris Uche, SAN, announced his intention to challenge the verdict in the Supreme Court.
In his statement, Atiku emphasized that while a judgment had been delivered, he believed justice had not been fully served. He stated that this legal battle was not just about his personal interests but a larger fight for the integrity of Nigeria’s constitution, the rule of law, and the country’s democratic processes. “We have the instruction of our client to go to the Supreme Court,” Atiku’s lawyer affirmed, indicating their determination to contest the decision. They also requested access to the court records and judgment, acknowledging the urgency of the matter. The legal team remains committed to pursuing this case until justice prevails.
