FCT Minister Bold Vision Satellite Towns Set for Major Transformation

Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Mr. Nyesom Wike, has reaffirmed the FCT Administration’s focus on the development of satellite towns in the region. This announcement was made during the inauguration of Mandate Secretaries for several FCT Administration departments.

Wike emphasized that the welfare and progress of residents should extend to areas beyond the city center. The newly inaugurated Mandate Secretaries are tasked with addressing issues affecting service delivery in the FCT Administration, with a particular focus on improving transparency, efficiency, and accountability in procurement processes.

These officials are expected to play a pivotal role in translating the administration’s vision into practical actions that will shape the future of the FCT. Wike stressed that President Muhammadu Buhari has entrusted the administration with the monumental task of transforming the FCT into a world-class city.

Part of the mission involves boosting Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) through innovative approaches to fund ambitious development projects. Public transportation was also highlighted as a key challenge that needs comprehensive solutions to ensure the effective and efficient functioning of the modern city.

Wike’s commitment to the development of satellite towns and addressing various challenges underscores the administration’s determination to elevate the FCT’s status and enhance the well-being of its residents.
