Ondo Governor Akeredolu Officially Resumes Duties After Medical Leave
Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, the Governor of Ondo State, has officially communicated his return to work after an extended medical vacation. The state House of Assembly received the notification letter, confirming his resumption of duties as of September 8, 2023.
Speaker Olamide Oladiji acknowledged the letter and expressed gratitude for Akeredolu’s safe return, citing the constitutional provision in Section 190(1) of the Nigerian Constitution. Akeredolu returned to Nigeria after a three-month medical leave in Germany and held meetings with cabinet members, legislators, and various political groups in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State.
The governor is expected to return to Ondo State next week to continue his leadership responsibilities.
