Governor Dapo Abiodun Defends Demolition Nobody Is Above the Law

Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has defended the recent partial demolition of a five-story building, rejecting claims that it was politically motivated. The property, reportedly owned by Olufunke Daniel, the wife of former Ogun State Governor Otunba Gbenga Daniel, was subjected to demolition due to legal violations.

Governor Abiodun emphasized that the demolition was a consequence of disregarding the law rather than political considerations. He stressed that the law applies to everyone, regardless of their social or political status. The governor commended the Ministry of Physical Planning for upholding the law despite external pressures.

He also pointed out that his administration has consistently taken action against illegal properties, highlighting the importance of compliance with state laws and regulations. Governor Abiodun warned that his government would not tolerate illegality, particularly concerning structures lacking authorized documents from state government agencies.
