NIMC Chief’s Bold Warning: No Bribes for Faster NIN Registration
The Acting Director General/CEO of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), Engr. Bisoye Coker-Odusote, has issued a firm caution to Nigerians against resorting to bribery or third-party services to expedite their National Identification Number (NIN) registration or modifications.
In a resounding statement, Coker-Odusote emphasized that such actions are not only unethical but also illegal. She stressed the importance of adhering to the established procedures laid out by the NIMC, reiterating the commission’s unwavering commitment to conducting all registration processes seamlessly and in strict accordance with the law.
Coker-Odusote made it clear that compromising the NIN modification process by engaging in bribery or third-party dealings goes against the principles of transparency and the government’s anti-corruption campaign.
“The NIMC has a zero-tolerance policy for corruption,” she affirmed. “We are fully dedicated to upholding the highest ethical standards and integrity in our operations.”
She urged citizens to resist any attempts at extortion and encouraged them to report any unethical practices encountered during the NIN modification process.
Coker-Odusote concluded by reiterating the NIMC’s commitment to maintaining the security and credibility of the NIN system while protecting the interests of the Nigerian people.
