Sky-High Achievement Nigeria Smashes Global Aviation Safety Standards with Stellar Score

Nigeria Achieves Stellar 70% in Global Aviation Safety Audit

Nigeria has made a significant leap in aviation safety standards, securing a 70% score in the recent audit by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO). This represents a commendable climb from the 67.1% marked in the 2016 review.

The ICAO’s Universal Safety Oversight Audit Programme Continuous Monitoring Approach (USOAP-CMA), established in 1999, stands as a gold standard in ensuring global aviation safety. This rigorous 12-day evaluation, conducted from August 30 to September 11, 2023, gauges the efficiency of member states in managing and enhancing their safety protocols.

The central objective of this assessment isn’t merely about meeting the benchmarks. It’s about the unwavering commitment of countries like Nigeria to diligently implement the foundational elements of an aviation safety system.

The latest results underscore Nigeria’s commitment to global aviation excellence, reinforcing its dedication to maintaining top-tier safety standards and setting new industry benchmarks.
